To Charles' Family,
My condolences to Charlie's family. I was his family doctor for many years having met him while I was caring for Ruby at the Miller Center. He was straight forward and did not beat around the bush, you knew where he stood on topics. He valued those who were hard workers. We had long conversations about his upbringing on Bell Island and his varied careers. Laterly he enjoyed travelling. whether to Labrador or on a cruise. He always spoke highly of his family . He is of a generation that will be sorely missed.
Take care, Ean Parsons, Family Practice MUN

Hello Dwight,
The last time we talked was at Young's Funeral Home when your mother had passed away. I'm saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. Your father and I enjoyed a warm relationship. At my own Dad's funeral, your Dad offered his hand while I left the church. Our eyes met, and he gave me a warm, uplifting smile that was as comforting as anything said to me at that difficult time. That's how it was for me with your Dad. He was an intelligent, sincere man, whose opinion I valued, and company I thoroughly enjoyed. He exuded a calm, reserved demeanor that always resonated with me. I'm so grateful to have known him.
I have memories, and even a couple of delightful stories. I hope that I get to share those with you at some time, in the not-too-distant future.

Darroch Vokey,

Bernadette Vokey

Dwight & Family, Please accept our Deepest Sympathy. We are very saddened to learn of your fathers passing and share in your loss. We have know "Charlie #2" for many years and I still have some letters and cards he sent us. He used to receive mail that was supposed to be ours and we would receive his mail that was his. He used to sign his letters to us as Charlie # 2. My husband was Charlie #1. We enjoyed sharing stories with him and enjoyed his company. Over the years, I used to tell him I was his secretary because I used to receive so many telephone calls that were meant for him. Rest In Peace Our Dear Friend Charlie.
