Obituary for David M. Gosse

Passed suddenly away at his home in St. Pete Beach, Florida at the age of 70, Mr. David M. Gosse, formerly of Spaniard's Bay.

Dave is predeceased by his father, Calvin Gosse, step father, Thomas Rose, his infant son, David and his pride and joy - granddaughter Quinn.

Leaving to mourn with the biggest void and most cherished memories are his daughters, Melissa (Dean) Seymour and Andrea Gosse (Graham Lynch); mother, Shirley Rose; the grandchildren he adored - Charlie, Joel and Adeline; sisters, Karen (Irving) Mercer and Pamela (John) MacDonald; the mother of his children, Kay Porter; Adeline’s brother, Tristan Lynch; as well as his nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a wealth of other family and friends in both Newfoundland and Florida, including special friends, PJ Coombs (Phyllis) and Tom and Louise Harris.

Dave was born and raised in Spaniard’s Bay, NL, where he worked in the family business for a number of years. He later started his own business, based out of Hr. Grace, NL. In 1997, Dave relocated to the US to further pursue work opportunities. He eventually settled in St. Pete Beach, FL, where he made both countless friends and countless memories while running his business, "Formation Specialties". In recent years, Dave also took up residence in Bay Roberts, NL - a move made to ensure more quality time would be spent with his beloved children and grandchildren.

Dave was truly a friend to many. He had a lifelong love of golf and curling, and was the pillar of strength for his family. Being a grandfather was easily his most important and most treasured role. His infectious smile and hearty laugh will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Admiral's Marina, Harbour Grace South on Saturday, July 16, 2022 between the hours of 3 & 7 P.M. Family and friends are asked to stop by and visit with the family.
