“God measures people by the small dimensions of humility and not by the bigness of their achievements or the size of their capabilities.” -Billy Graham

Donald was a proud man with a strong work ethic. He was loyal, funny and committed to his family. He loved his wife of over 55 years, his 3 children and their spouses, 2 grandchildren, extended family, friends and loving pets. Donald was not an outgoing man. Spending his days in the comfort of his family home was truly what gave him joy. He will be forever missed.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Howse and the staff at Carbonear General Hospital, Fr. Paul Thoms and Coombs Compassion Home Care Support Workers. Also, his nurse Deanne Chipman and extra medical support from family members Peggy & Jerome.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, L.T. Stick Drive, Bay Roberts on Thursday and Friday: 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Donald Payne Memorial Fund. Email Transfers can be sent to sladesfuneralhomenl@gmail.com, password: donald.
