Obituary for Effie Coombs (Martin)
Mrs. Effie Coombs of Upper Island Cove passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Friday January 27, 2023. Mrs. Coombs was 94 years old.
She leaves to mourn her loving family:
Daughters: Beverly (Bill) Lee & Brenda (Dave) Barrett
Grandchildren: Andrea Coffin (Jody), Jonathan Lee, Michael Lee (Penny), Jody Barrett, Jason Barrett (Mary) & Athena Coombs (Rachel)
Great Grandchildren: Ethan Coffin, Rebecca Coffin, Nathan Lee, Carter Lee, Julia Lee, Tyler Lamoureux & Ella Barrett
And a circle of family and friends

Sons: Grant & Jeff (Debbie)
Parents: Walter & Winnifred (Rees) Martin
Siblings: Granville (Margo) Martin, Hubert Martin, George (Bertha) Martin, Alex (Evelyn) Martin, Violet (Dick) Sutton & Walter (Alice) Martin
The family would like to thank the staff of Coombs Home Care, especially her care givers Carol and Amanda. Also, Chris, Ted and Alf for always lending a helping hand.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, CRANES ROAD, UPPER ISLAND COVE on Monday: 2-8 P.M. and Tuesday: 10:30 A.M.-12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in her loving memory to St. Peter’s Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
Funeral service will take place at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from St. Peter’s Anglican Church & Cemetery, Upper Island Cove.
