Obituary for Gregory Francis Mercer
Mr. Gregory Francis Mercer died suddenly at his home in Riverhead Harbour Grace on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Mr. Mercer was 58 years old.
He leaves to mourn his Wife Donna of 36 years; Daughter: Natasha (Michael) of Upper Island Cove; Son: Craig (Amie) of Spaniard’s Bay; Grandson: Hunter who was the pride of his life; Step Granddaughters: Calleigh, Jessica, Calli & Cassi; Sisters: Sherri (Granville) of Spaniard’s Bay & Michelle (Gary) of Bishop’s Cove; Brothers: Anthony (Ella) of Burnt Point, Gary (Wanda) of Spaniard’s Bay, Charlie (Floss) of Spaniard’s Bay, Bob (Elaine) of Ontario & Evan of Spaniard’s Bay and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family & friends.
He is predeceased by his Parents: Tom & Rose Mercer; Infant Brother: Tommy and Parents-in-law: Israel & Hazel Smith.
Greg loved the outdoors. He loved cod jigging, trouting, berry picking, camping, growing vegetables and he also loved picking at things. He enjoyed campfires, swimming, being in his boat and working in his shed. He loved to laugh and could tell a good joke. He certainly loved his belly, but most of all he loved his family. His wife Donna was his best friend and buddy. His 2 children were his world and his grandson was his pride and joy.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Conception Bay Highway, Spaniard’s Bay on Sunday: 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. from Slade’s Funeral Home, Spaniard’s Bay. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s R.C. Cemetery, Spaniard’s Bay.
