It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce Jessica Noel Crane – our beloved daughter, sister, family member, and friend – passed away suddenly on Friday April 24th, 2020, at age 24.

Fiancé Donny Reynolds, with parents Jackie and Don Reynolds. Aunts Lana, Lori (Dwaine), Pamela, Karen (Ken), Paula (Terry), Kelly (John), and Uncles John, Darryl (Melanie), Steven (Krista), Glenn (Sharon), Doug (Lori), Paul (Pamela), and Tom (Crystal). Cousins Jonathan, Ashley, Ryan, Emily, Sarah, Julie, Natalie, Daniel, Carson, Samuel, Anna, Megan, Matthew, Brad, Luke, Christopher, Robert, Brian, Kevin, Joshua, Alyssa, Michael, Brandon, and Clara. Grandparents Phyllis Crane, Gloria and John Snelham, honorary grandparents Hedley and Lorraine Blanchard, and honorary Oma Ursula Woodard. The Schindlers Ray, Robyn, Connor, Ahron, and Maddie. Fur babies Teddy, Jax, Spot, and Ziggy, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her grandfather Ralph Crane, and her Uncle Kevin Crane.
Jessica (meaning, God Beholds) was born December 24th, 1995 in Brampton, Ontario, to Sherry and Aiden.

The younger of two girls, she was known for her big brown eyes, infectious smile, joyful laugh, and love for life. Jessica was loving, vibrant, and compassionate, giving to others in need and wanting to “fix” anyone needing to be fixed. She was happy giving gifts to others – often spending her last dollar on a loved one. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, going for drives, and exploring new places. She would visit Dad on weekends with an eagerness to start a new project, paint, or organize clutter. Her zest and drive to finish projects always kept him motivated. Mom and Jessica enjoyed walks with Teddy and going out to eat. Kristen and Jessica loved trying to outwit each other and make each other laugh, and Noah and Jessica would play board games, and he would challenge her to a game on the Wii.

In 2013, Jessica followed her father to Newfoundland to start a new life and her career. She graduated with a diploma in Dental Assistant II. She found a job as a Security Guard with Paladin, and later started working for Cougar Helicopters.

She loved doing things with her hands: building shelves with Donnie; spending hours creating an outdoor space where she could relax; and was always happiest when she had a project to finish. Her great eye for detail showed in everything she did.

Jessica loved all animals (especially penguins) and dreamed of seeing one in the wild. She wanted a Corgi and to name it Spud. She also wanted a Havanese dog because they reminded her of Teddy. It was her dream to be an actor, and if not an actor, then a dog groomer. Her favorite flowers were red lilies. She loved food and would always brag that she made the best lasagna, and she was right. She baked a lot as it was soothing and calming for her. Jessica loved being the center of attention, and was one of the funniest people you’d have the privilege of knowing. She was proud of her ability to make everyone laugh. That’s what she did – she made you laugh. On some days, she’d have you laughing for hours.

Jessica loved her family with her big, wonderful heart. The world is not as full without her. When you think of Jessica, celebrate all of the good memories you have of her, and remember the light that she brought to this world.

Due to the public health advisory regarding Covid-19, a celebration of her life will be determined and announced at a later date.

The family encourages you to share your condolences, photos, and tributes.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador Division (CMHA-NL).

Jessica was a dear friend and I miss her very much. She remains one of the kindest-hearted people I have ever met. She always made everyone around her smile and my happiest memories from middle school were all with her. When Jessica was in a room, no one ever felt like they didn't belong or weren't welcome. I have made a donation to CMHA-NL. All of my love and condolences to Jessica's family and everyone who loves her.
