Obituary for Lemuel George Smith

Lemuel George Smith age 73, loving father of five and adoring husband to wife Yvonne Smith passed peacefully away on the afternoon of November 26, 2022 after a courageous battle with bone cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Lemuel was born in 1948 in Paddocks Bite, Newfoundland to Jack & Dora Smith. He married the love of his life and they raised five children together. He has firm belief in his Christianity which got him through many battles in his life. Lemuel is survived by his wife, five children, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

He leaves to mourn his loving family:

Great Grandchildren: Keiley Fowler, Gavin Petten, & Charlie Petten

And a large circle of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, L.T. Stick Drive, Bay Roberts on Tuesday: 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to The Arms of Jesus Children’s Mission in Guatemala to build a house for a less fortunate family. Donations can be made directly to the mission by mail at P.O. Box 10, Pickering, ON, L1V 2R2 or by email transfers at: childmis@rogers.com.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2 P.M. the Port de Grave Pentecostal Tabernacle. Interment will follow at the Port de Grave Pentecostal Cemetery, Port de Grave.
