Miss Christopher’s Family

Sorry to hear of Miss Christopher’s passing. She was my first head nurse when I started work on 3 South at the old General Hospital many years ago, she was a wonderful caring person to all who knew her. In addition to watching over patients and staff, we also had our fun time outside of work along with Mrs. Conway, Mr. Pitcher, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Curtis, Mary Whalen just to name a few. We would get together at Mrs. Conway’s house for special occasions and enjoy each other’s company in a more relaxed atmosphere. She was the exceptional Head Nurse, what I call Old School, you could always reach out to her for anything. My thoughts and prayers to you all at this difficult time. 🙏🏽

To the Family of Nancy Christopher, on behalf of the members of the General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, I wish to extend our deepest sympathy at Nancy’s passing. Nancy was a strong supporter of the Alumni over the years. On a personal note, I worked with Nancy at the “old General “ and got to know her very well. Nancy’s focus was always her patients and she well be remembered for her caring attitude and professionalism. When we are able to resume our annual Alumni dinners, Nancy will be remembered in the roll call of deceased graduates and her name will be recorded in the Alumni Memorial Book. Sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I'm sure everyone who knew her has fond memories.
Nancy lived with our older brother Irvine Dawe and his family at 21 Albany St. for at least 20 years while she was nursing in St. John's. Twin brother Roy and I also lived there for 5 years while attending university. We shared many jokes and laughs with
Nancy. Just about every weeknight Nancy would be waiting in the kitchen with Irvine and Ruby for us to finish studying
so that we could have the big game of 120's. It was always something to look forward to and Nancy became a great friend .
Our sincere condolences to Nancy's extended family and I would love the opportunity to attend the funeral if the numbers permit.
