Obituary for Patricia Marie Martin (Collins)

Patricia Marie Martin (Collins), affectionately known as “Teecie”, crossed over to Eternal Love surrounded by her husband, son, daughter and sisters on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Born and raised in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of John Collins and Irene Collins (Sullivan). Teecie was an extraordinary person – a loving wife, a caring mother, a cherished sister, and a best friend to many.

Patricia will be missed by her husband, John, her son, Christopher, daughter-in-law, Vanessa, her daughter, Melanie, and also by her grandson, Charlie and granddaughter, Lauren. She will be missed by her sisters, Regina McLean and husband Harry, Maureen Callahan and husband Jim, and Donna Hall and husband Greg and brother, Patrick Collins and wife Shirley. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews Bradley, Jeff, Amy, Jennifer, Gillian, Jonathan, Allan, Francis and Greg.

Teecie’s commitment to her Faith was absolute and unshakable and gave her strength all her life and especially during her illnesses over the last few years. Her resilience was a gift to others, and it has inspired the many people who were lucky to be a part of her life. She had a boundless love for other people. Everyone who knew Teecie admired her – and could count on her – as a friend and gifted listener. It was impossible for Teecie to attend an event or travel to a new place without making new connections, to lend a listening ear, and expand her circle of friends. Teecie lived her life in a way that stands as a powerful lesson: that a life lived with an open heart can only be a good one. She will be deeply missed by many.

She and her best friend, husband John, were inseparable and shared a love that grew endlessly as they continued to fall in love with each over their 47 years together.

There will be a private gathering for family and friends at her home in Moncton, New Brunswick. Funeral to follow in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland.

Arrangements entrusted to Ferguson’s Funeral Home & Slade’s Funeral Home.
