Obituary for Paul J. Gosse
Mr. Paul James Gosse of Spaniard’s Bay passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
Paul was born Oct. 23, 1947, in St. John’s to Mary Teresa Power Gosse and James Francis Gosse.
Paul was a loving husband to his wife Yvonne (Andrews), and the couple marked their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Paul always had a keen sense of family, something instilled in him from a young age by his devoted grandmother Mary (Gosse) Kavanagh, who raised him.
He was a loving, proud and supportive Dad to his son, Paul K. Gosse, of Halifax. Over the years, Paul Sr. and Yvonne enjoyed a lot of wonderful family time in Halifax with their beloved son and his wife, Heather (Metcalfe) Gosse, and grandson, Patrick Gosse, who was the apple of his Poppy’s eye.
He will be missed by his family and his many friends for his kind, warm and gregarious personality and his terrific sense of humour.
His family mourns his loss but will forever be grateful to have been surrounded by his love.

Aunts: Rosalie Power and Irene Arnott
Parents-in-law: Howard and Mildred Andrews
Siblings-in-law: Judy and David.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Salvation Army Citadel, Water Street, Bay Roberts, on Thursday from 10 a.m.- 12 noon and 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Salvation Army, Bay Roberts Corps.
The celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2 P.M. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Bay Roberts. Interment will follow at a later date.
