Obituary for Wilfred Seymour

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Seymour age 77, of Butlerville announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear.

Predeceased by his wife: Mary Ellen (Pottle) and daughter Carol; his parents: Allan & Marcella, brothers: Jim, Allan (Marie) & Jerome, Sisters: Mildred (Garfield) Butler, Elizabeth "Betty" (Burl) Neal, Irene (Edward) Parsons and brother-in-law: Wallace Crocker.

Leaving to mourn and to also cherish his loving memory are his daughters: Surann (Duncan) Kennedy, Angela (Tony) Vokey and sons: Wilfred & Burl (Karen), Grandchildren: Jacob (Sam), Taylor, Danita, Riley, Noah, Madison & Nick; Great Grandsons: Luke & Levi Lewis, companion of 16 years: Rita Fudge, special friend Teddy Parsons, who he treated like a son and a wonderful, lifelong friend William (Bill) Butler; brothers: Kevin (Sherrill) & Wayne (Margaret): Sisters: Julia (Lester) Oliver, Juanita Crocker & Marcella (Don) Payne; Sisters-in-law: Elizabeth & Louise Seymour; sisters & brothers-in-law of the Pottle family also a very large circle of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

He had an unconditional love for his family. Especially his grandchildren and great grandsons Luke & Levi. Each one held a special place in is heart. He was so very proud of their accomplishments. He loved to watch his grandson, Jacob play hockey, and he didn’t miss a game. He was an active member of the Cromwell Orange Lodge #81, Shearstown and love to have a game of cards and darts with his friends.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, L.T. Stick Drive, Bay Roberts on Thursday: 3-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Wilfred Seymour Memorial Fund. (Email transfers can be sent to sladesfuneralhomenl@gmail.com , password: wilfred. Please include a note stating what or whom the donation is for.)

The Funeral Service will take place at a later date.. This will be by invitation only.
